What is collected, and why
The site collects nothing unless you accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you accept, it loads Google Analytics 4 (through Google Tag Manager) to measure which pages people find useful — for example page views, approximate location by country, and general device and browser type.
This is used only to understand and improve the site. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you give in the banner and can withdraw at any time. If you decline, no analytics or other non-essential scripts run, and the site works exactly the same.
Cookies
- Consent cookie (
tp-consent) — remembers your choice for six months so you are not asked on every visit. This is strictly necessary and is set regardless of your choice. - Google Analytics cookies — set only if you accept, to count visits and distinguish sessions. They do not identify you personally.
You can withdraw consent anytime via Cookie settings in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Sharing and international transfers
Analytics data is processed by Google as a data processor. Google may transfer data outside the EU/EEA; such transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. No data is sold, and there are no ads, remarketing or third-party tracking pixels on this site.
Retention
Analytics data is retained by Google according to the property's configured retention period and then deleted or aggregated. The consent cookie expires after six months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email teemu.piirainen[at]awave.fi.
If you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, you may complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi (opens in a new tab)).
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes are posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
